- Video - What a Dump!
- Right on time, the backhoe and bull dozer
prepared for a Saturday Dump Day, and the first
trunk was loaded at 7:10A under a wonderful
sunrise. In between truck loads the diggers piled
dirt from the bottom of the retaining walls. The
good Saturday Dump Day left the site flat as
sports field. (1:30 min)

The diggers kept digging down the retaining walls.
The first dump truck arrived at 9:40A with only
two truck flurries at 10A and 12N. Visually and
productively, today was like yesterday.

- Work started right at 7A with everyone and
every machine puffing steam in the single-digit
weather. The backhoe dug further down the west
retaining wall and piled dirt foreshadowing trucking
activity. The first dump truck was filled at 9:50A
with a small dribble of trucks the rest of the day.

The site manager arrived at 7:15A, walked the
site, then sat in his truck until noon. At 12N a
second truck arrived, and the bull dozer spent 45
minutes clearing snow from the flat part of site.
Then the site went quiet again, until the site
manager left at 2P.

Just the prediction of snow stopped work at the
site. A half dozen crew arrived late at 7:35A.
They moved a few supplies with the forklift and
baby backhoe and welded a few joints but most
of the time they huddled on the north side, trying
to stay warm. But all were gone by 10:15A when
the snow started.

- Workers arrived late at 8:35A and work started
later at 9:15A -- perhaps a nod to working on a
federal holiday. It was a moderate dump day
starting with a 9:30A flurry and then intermittent
flow of dump trucks. However, by quitting time
3A, most of the hill of dirt was gone. (1:14 min)
