- YouTube Video - Going Down

At 6A the first dump truck was queued on

Connecticut Ave, and at 7A a flurry of truck

loading began. The site-moving activity quickly

slowed to filling intermittent caravans of dump

trucks and to digging further down the east,

north, and west retaining walls. At 9:40 an

unusual parade of yellow-vested crew marched

south on Connecticut Ave, convened at manhole

cover on Kanawha, opened it, peered in, closed

the manhole, and then proceeded to work on

gutter or several hours. (2:50 min)

- YouTube Video

Much like yesterday, a constant flow of work but

little drama. What was noticeable was the flatness

of two thirds of the constructions site. While the

backhoe and dump trucks took center stage with

intermittent activity, screen right, the hole-poking

machine slowly worked its way east, along the

Kanawha retaining wall. (2:15 min)

- YouTube Video

The activity was the same as the last two weeks

although not as frenetic as the last several work

days - crew on the retaining wall and backhoes

and dozers loading caravans of dump trucks.

Notice how flat the site is now. A new machine

that arrived on site yesterday, was at work today

-- just off camera lower right -- on the south west

corner of the retaining wall (Connecticut and

Kanawha); some kind of horizontal hole digger. A

first for the construction site, a few of the crew

worked on the south west corner of the retaining

wall well into the dark of the evening; at 5:30P

lights illuminated the baby backhoe as it worked

on the corner until worked stopped at 6P. (2:22

- YouTube Video - Caravans of Trucks

At 9:20A, let the trucking begin -- and for the

rest of the day, the dump trucks came in

caravans to remove the site, with both the

backhoe and the bulldozer loading.

- Busy but visually unappealing. Much like Friday

and Saturday -- the crew was on the retaining

wall, and backhoes and dozers moved about 90

loads of dirt-- except most of the action was

behind a mound, out of view.
