- Video

- Today’s activity was similar to yesterday’s. The

backhoe and dozer worked in the south east as

the sun rose in it. 9:45A was the first flurry of

dump trucks, filled doubly quickly since both the

backhoe and dozer were contributing. Intermittent

dump trucks with an occasional flurries of dump

trucks, moved dirt from the far east side of site,

with most of the good watching behind a hill of

dirt. As an interesting aside, between 12:43P and

1:02, down front on Connecticut Ave., watch the

Pothole Killer (written on the side of the truck,

really) cha-cha as it repairs the roadway. (1:35

- Video - Making up for lost time.

- At 7A the moving pair of lights was the bull

dozer making up for lost time. And by the dawn,

everyone was at a fervent pace of work. The

dozer and large backhoe were cleaning the site

and the small backhoe and crew were working on

the the north retaining wall. There were several

flurries of dump trucks, but most of the work was

digging, piling, and tidying. The heavy equipment

stopped by 3P but four crew worked around the

site until 5P. (1:07 min)

Even though there was no precipitation today,

there was no heavy work on site. A half dozen

crew arrived in the fog and spent the day

unenthusiastically soldering and working on piping.

The forklift moved a few supplies and equipment,

and the small backhoe tried to look productive for

ten minutes. A visually lazy day

• Tuesday, 14 January, 2014

Just the prediction of rain stopped work on the

site today. At 7:30A there was one truck on site.

By 9A there were a half dozen crew mulling

around the site. By 10A there was only one crew

on site sitting in his truck by the front gate. At

10:30A a large flatbed truck backed up to the

gate and blocked Military Rd., and at 10:48 AM

the retaining-wall-hole-poking machine rolled

aboard the flatbed and left the site. Around 11A,

the one crew met a “fuel” truck at the gate, and

before noon, the site was locked down.

- Video

- Today’s sunrise was included because of the

unusually large range of colors. Making up for lost

time, the backhoe started before light digging

further down at the south retaining wall (far right

back screen); the little backhoe did the best it

could at the north retaining wall and then moved

to the south wall. All the earth moving equipment

dug, piled, and tidied, but productivity was limited

by the lack of dump trucks. (1:36 min)
